M.U.S.E.U.M. - Male Section

The M.U.S.E.U.M. for boys is situated in Victory Street. Every time that the building is opened there are three or four catechists present to take care and teach children. Our aim is to teach the Catholic Religion to boys in a healthy environment where they feel happy and welcome.

Our children start from exactly after the first Holy Communion, which is referred to as the Second Year Catechism Class. This year we had a total of 32 boys. This October will start those boys who have just received their Holy Communion. This means that we will have three classes. Lessons are held every Tuesday and Friday. The M.U.S.E.U.M. building opens at 5.15 and the lesson is from 5.30 till 6.15. Afterwards the children can enjoy another fifteen minutes play time. At the moment we have billiards and two tables for soccer. This year they will soon add another billiard table.

Every Sunday afternoon we organise an outing for our older children. In winter we play football or we go in the countryside and to the seaside during summer. During summer as well we organise a whole day in Gozo and have a good number of barbecues.  Sometimes instead of the lesson we organise what we refer to as Summer Games. Sometimes the outing is longer than usual and we go somewhere different such as the Falconry at Imqabba or the Family Park in Marsascala. Along with these we should not forget mentioning the activities organised at Christmas time with the Novena, awards and the procession with Baby Jesus.

During special feasts such as Good Friday and Easter the lessons are special as preparation for the coming feast. Apart from this a few weeks before Confirmation we organise a Seminar for both children and parents. Present at this Seminar there are both boys and girls and it is held at Saint Michael's School. For this year we are preparing much more meetings for parents so that we can help the children better.
